Bachelor of Physiotherapy
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a 4 year degree program followed by 6 months of rotatory internship in the field of rehabilitative medicine. The course focuses on employing physical forces like heat, pressure, electricity, etc. to assist the body in healing itself. Students who want to pursue a career as a physiotherapist should do this course.
- The basic BPT course eligibility is to secure a minimum of 50% marks in 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their main subjects. BPT Admissions 2024 are mostly done on a merit basis. However, some colleges do conduct their own entrance exams BCECE, LPUNEST, VEE etc. NEET is also a popular Entrance Exam for BPT courses.
- BPT syllabus includes Anatomy, Nursing, Biochemistry, First aid, physiotherapy, electrotherapy, and others. Students must develop skills such as Spoken English, Persuasive Skills, proper usage of equipment and presentation ability. - Students who have finished their 10 + 2 with 50% grades and have science as the main subject are eligible to apply for the BPT Course program.
- The eligibility criteria for Bachelor of Physiotherapy in GGSIPU is that students must clear the IPU CET entrance exam.
- BPT Eligibility in Medical Trust Institute Of Medical Sciencesis that students must pass class 12 with 50% in Biology and 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology together.
- SRM Medical College Hospital And Research Centremandates that students must have 60% with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects in order to apply for BPT courses.
After completing the BPT course, students can become Sports Physio Rehabilitator, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Consultant with an average BPT salary of INR 5,00,000.
Other than MPT course, courses like Masters Programme In Sports Physiotherapy (M.S.P.T), Post Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy and Nutrition, and MBA in Healthcare Management are available after BPT course .
- Master of Physiotherapy (MPT): MPT course is a two-year degree course. It comes under the stream of Medicine and Allied Science. The course is offered in a regular as well as in distance mode. Admission to this course is based on the merit and entrance test examination.
- Masters Programme In Sports Physiotherapy (M.S.P.T): Masters Programme in Sports Physiotherapy is a two-year postgraduate Physiotherapy course. It deals with injuries and issues related to athletics.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy and Nutrition (PGDPN): PGD in Physiotherapy and Nutrition is a 1 year postgraduate diploma course. After completion of this course, aspirants can work at community health centers, mental health centers, rehabilitation centers and nursing homes/private care centers.
- MBA in Healthcare Management: The MBA in Healthcare Management is a two-year graduate management program that trains students to lead various operations in hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and other healthcare systems.
